Chance The Rapper Raises $2.2 Million For Chicago School System

Chance looks to be the gift that keeps on giving..

Chance The Rapper made headlines back in March after donating $1 million dollars to the development of his hometown’s (Chicago) school system. This accolade was trumped yesterday when Chance announced that after hosting a free concert for Chicago residents, that he had raised an additional $2.2 million for the further development of his city.

Chance shared the news yesterday during the summit for his non-profit organization, SocialWorks. (The same organization used to raise the $2.2 million) To divide up the earnings, SocialWorks will give away 20 grants for $100,000 to 20 different public schools in Chicago.
